A Life Imprisoned at Home: Walls Close In

Surviving on Lockdown
Life as we understand it has drastically changed. The world outside our doors is a blur of its former self. We are now trapped within the boundaries of our homes, forced to adjust to a new reality. The days run together, marked by the rhythm of online meetings, streaming media, and cooking. We yearn for the simple pleasures that were once granted for granted: a walk in the park, a coffee with friends, or even just a conversation without a screen amidst us.
This new existence has created challenges, but it has also revealed unexpected qualities within ourselves and our communities. We have learned to be more compassionate, more resourceful, and more thankful for the simple things in life. As we navigate this uncharted territory, we must keep hopeful that brighter days are coming.
Six Feet From Freedom
Life behind bars is a harsh reality. Every day, you face limitations that feel like an unbreakable chain. The world outside seems so near, yet it's separated by just that symbolic distance of six feet.
Sometimes, the weight of those bars feels insurmountable. You crave freedom with every fiber of your being. Each new day serves as a reminder that you're confined.
But even in the darkest moments, there's a flicker of hope. A hope that one day, you'll step over those bars and finally be free. That day might seem distant, but it's a dream worth holding onto.
Chains of Liberty
The allure with freedom can be a powerful force. Yet, paradoxically, it can too lead to imprisonment. This manifests when the very notion for freedom becomes perverted, transforming into a mechanism for control and oppression.
Authentic freedom demands not only the absence with external constraints but also the nurturing of internal resilience. When this inner base is lacking, even within a society that values freedom, individuals can find themselves trapped within the boundaries of their own minds.
Consequently, the true measure with freedom lies in our ability to transcend the constraints that restrict our potential, both externally and internally.
